Both R&D institutions were present at ICT2015, that took place from 20th to 22nd of October in Lisbon. The event gathered more than 6000 people, with a restrict number of 150 stands for FP7 - ICT project highlights.
INESC-MN was at booth C15 as a partner institute of MAGNETRODES - Electromagnetic detection of neural activity at cellular resolution a FP7 project. Our demonstrator used magnetoresistive sensors incorporated in micromachined Si probes and a agarose gel brain model to mimic the experimental conditions for brain activity measurements. In addition, INESC-MN displayed also its core technologies, namely magnetoresistive and optical sensors, microfluidics platforms and integrated microsystems, which have been key in other FP7 projects as IMAGIC, NANODEM and DEMOTOX.
INESC-ID was at the Portuguese Village with the research project Vithea, a virtual therapist for aphasia treatment, also with the buttler Edgar application for tourism. We also took part of the off-site exhibition at Praça do Comércio with the eMote research project. The eMote project design, develop and evaluate a new generation of artificial embodied tutors that have perceptive capabilities to engage in empathic interactions with learners in a shared physical space.Aditionally INESC-ID was also at the PCAS research project booth,a s a partner. PCAS aims at providing and innovative, trustworthy, handled device; the Secured Personalized Device (SPD) will allow users to securely store their data, to share it with trusted applications, to an easily and securely authentication.
